Manufacturing Engineer

1XHayward, CA
$105,000 - $220,000Onsite

About The Position

1X is building humanoid robots for home use, aiming to automate chores and free up people's time. This requires solving complex challenges in robotics, AI, and manufacturing simultaneously, at scale, and in a safe home environment. The company has been developing these robots since 2014 and is now scaling up for production. The Manufacturing & Production team plays a crucial role in translating engineering designs into scalable, repeatable, and high-quality production processes. They bridge product development and manufacturing, ensuring efficient production of components and assemblies while maintaining the precision and reliability needed for humanoid robots. This team collaborates across machining, electromechanical assembly, automation, quality, supply chain, and production operations to move from prototypes to high-volume manufacturing. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for building the manufacturing systems necessary to scale humanoid robot production. This involves owning manufacturing processes for critical robotic components and assemblies, guiding products from prototype to production. The role will focus on developing robust machining, assembly, inspection, and validation processes to enhance quality, throughput, and repeatability, while also supporting rapid product iteration. The work will directly influence production readiness, hardware quality, manufacturing efficiency, and the long-term scalability of 1X's robotic systems.
