About The Position

This role involves working within NSK to meet production requirements and schedule attainment. The Manufacturing Engineer will become familiar with and apply efficient manufacturing processes to meet business objectives. Key responsibilities include performing quality inspection checks, assisting with machine function improvements and set changes, and aiding in the repair of machine breakdowns with maintenance personnel. The position also requires generating and revising standardized operating procedures, performing root cause analysis of quality defects, and developing/implementing process improvements. Data collection and reporting for assigned projects are essential, as is assisting in establishing specifications and operating conditions. The role includes testing and recommending perishable items for cost-effectiveness, and recommending tooling and equipment for optimal process capability and efficiency. A significant portion of time (85%) will be spent on the production floor supporting production needs through teaching, training, and problem diagnosis, providing insights to coordinators and operators. The engineer will also evaluate new, re-built, and existing machine designs for safety and regulatory compliance, assist the maintenance department with preventative maintenance, and collect, analyze, and report on departmental KPIs. Execution of assigned capital budget projects, including scheduling, deadlines, and cost control, is also required, along with managing assigned portions of Repair & Maintenance and Perishable Tooling budgets. Participation in team efforts to address quality and safety issues within the department is expected.
