About The Position

Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Torrance, CA facility. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations and overall site growth as a technical expert through managing and improving process documentation, programming and troubleshooting automation equipment, and developing improvements to various manufacturing processes. This person must be able to work hands-on and apply engineering knowledge to solve issues and optimize manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or relevant Engineering Field
  • Basic skills or knowledge in Solidworks
  • Experience with MS Office Applications
  • Must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with using ERP system for process control (preferably SAP ECC)
  • Detailed knowledge of various PCB assembly processes such as SMT, through hole assembly or conformal coating
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified
  • Experience programming automated equipment
  • Familiarity with AS9100D
  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) – A3 Problem Solving, Fishbone/Ishikawa, 5 Whys, Pareto charts, etc.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA and DFM.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify and maintain process control documentation to ensure manufacturing processes have proper written instructions/operation descriptions.
  • Implement ways to optimize manufacturing efficiency, improve quality and decrease costs by analyzing manufacturing process workmanship and drawings hands-on.
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, Maintenance, and Engineering. Support cross‑functional initiatives to improve site performance and standardization. Communicate technical information clearly to both hourly and salaried team members.
  • Support transition of products from design to manufacturing, ensuring producibility and risk mitigation. Participate in PFMEA, control plan development, and pilot builds. Ensure manufacturing readiness to meet customer and program delivery requirements.
  • Lead or support cost‑out, productivity, and efficiency improvement projects. Actively participate in site continuous improvement activities such as RIEs, Kaizen events, and CI Tool deployment.
  • Participate in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to minimize product development costs and maximize useful life of products. Analyze manufacturing process to develop cost estimates for new build.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with internal procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. Update internal procedures as needed. Identify and mitigate manufacturing safety risks within processes and equipment including machine guarding and ergonomics.
  • Train operators and technicians on new or updated processes and equipment. Support development of visual standards and process training materials. Mentor engineers, interns or CI participants as assigned.
