About The Position

Martin‑Baker America's Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing methods that maximize productivity, efficiency, and the effective use of company resources. This role supports existing production operations, leads the introduction of new work and new processes, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
  • Effective research skills, including the ability to distinguish relevant information and use reputable sources efficiently
  • Strong critical‑thinking and data‑analysis skills with the ability to identify patterns and logical sequences
  • Creative and efficient problem‑solving skills to identify practical solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and analytical information to supervisors, peers, customers, and cross‑functional teams
  • Results‑oriented mindset with the ability to maintain focus and overcome obstacles to meet or exceed goals
  • High reliability, with consistent and accurate completion of assignments

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of experience in a similar position
  • Working knowledge of statics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics/heat transfer/HVAC, GD&T, pneumatics, electronics (including PLCs), tooling and fixture design, jig design, and shop‑floor layout development (including value‑stream mapping)
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SAP, and general computer applications
  • Ability to direct or coordinate teams, apply sound management practices, and exercise independent judgment in a fast‑moving environment

Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day manufacturing operations to help sustain on‑time delivery and overall production performance
  • Bring new work and new processes online efficiently
  • Develop manufacturing plans, workflow layouts, labor estimates, build plans, and tooling requirements
  • Evaluate new products for in‑house manufacturing feasibility
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities from planning through implementation
  • Design, develop, implement, and document new manufacturing processes
  • Evaluate and improve existing methods
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Measure process capability and workforce effectiveness
  • Evaluate capital project needs
  • Develop strategies for the efficient use of materials, equipment, and personnel
  • Conduct measurements, tests, and evaluations to ensure products meet required quality standards
  • Participate in professional organizations and attend skills‑enhancement seminars as appropriate
  • Coordinate new‑product workflows
  • Plan shop‑floor layouts
  • Support tooling and fixture design requirements
