Manufacturing Engineer

ALIGN PRECISION•North Plains, OR

About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer conceives, investigates, evaluates, and recommends equipment, tooling, and processes to improve safety, reliability, and capacity while reducing costs. The role performs complex manufacturing and industrial engineering analysis, design, and assembly; investigates technical assignments; supports the establishment of operational procedures; and conducts technical surveillance of product, design concepts, and specification requirements. The engineer evaluates engineering changes and determines labor or equipment standards, using systematic problem solving and data collection to address issues, reduce costs, and minimize downtime. The position supports aircraft fabrication, assembly, and installation by developing work instructions, assessing tools and equipment, providing production-floor support, and modifying work instructions and manufacturing bills of materials as needed. It also evaluates new parts and manufacturing strategies, develops quotes and lead-time estimates, and programs CNC equipment. The engineer works alongside machinists to launch jobs, troubleshoot production issues, and improve processes, while sharing knowledge and developing team best practices. The role may lead or participate in health, safety, environmental, production, material control, Six Sigma, and R&D project teams, and includes preparing reports, action plans, work instructions, test procedures, and other production documentation.
