About The Position

Steel fabrication company needs a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate activities including systems fabrication, tooling, welding, robotics, and mechanical assembly. Will provide engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs. Work on plant layout and process improvement projects. Will work on automation or robotics projects. Must have some ability to write control logic for PLC’s and CNC control. Conducts studies to maximize workflow and process utilization. Ensures that product designs, documentation, and assembly instructions are accurate, maintained, and effective. Develops work instructions, designs assembly fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment. Reviews production reports and solves manufacturing and maintenance problems, reducing costs and preventing shipping delays. Develops safe work practices. Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality. Works with employees to resolve problems and avoid grievances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding, or similar field. Will consider partial degree.
  • At least three years’ manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with fabricated or assembled products made of steel or steel parts.
  • Experience working in an automated environment.
  • Experience setting time standards, lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process flow.
  • Some travel to other company locations, maybe 10%.
