We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong manufacturing engineering skills to provide overall support for the Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket Operations business. Requirements

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Military, Manufacturing, Business Operations Management, Engineering, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, engine manuals and blueprints.
  • Experience and knowledge of complex machining and assembly processes, including tool application and measurement methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in STEM field; Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.
  • FAA Repairman or FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate
  • Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices & processes, quality standards, and inspections methods & tools
  • Experience with Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite. Experience NX or similar CAD for the purpose of modifying work instructions.
  • Proficient in the application of problem solving and continuous improvement tools: CORE/ACE/SixSigma, Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, etc.
  • Project management experience and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively across all levels of management and shop personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of approved technical data such as Engine and Standard Practices Manuals, TO’s, etc., for military engines which will flow down into process work instructions.
  • Develop, modify and maintain ASI’s (Aftermarket Services Instructions), which includes editing CAPPII & Solumina work instructions.
  • Perform the necessary process try-out tasks including set-ups, first piece runs, process development, gage correlations and Repair Source approvals.
  • Identify and order tooling, review designs, mark-up prints, issue request forms and manage equivalencies.
  • Review Engineering Hold items on a daily basis, determine proper course of action and troubleshoot problem operations.
  • Support and assist in Quality compliance, TAT reductions, On-Time Delivery and Sales & EBIT Goals. May require off-shift coverage based on business requirements.
  • Specify new equipment and coordinate factory and site acceptance testing.
  • This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.
