About The Position

PPG's Aerospace Business has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer at our Grand Prairie facility! As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will cover all areas of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Performance Improvement, World Class Manufacturing, Process and Capital Improvement, and Personal Growth. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for training production employees in Legacy Transparencies, processes and technological capability of the work cell and is also jointly responsible for overall cell manufacturing performance. Must support in the Lean Enterprise & Sigma Logic process. Supports the transformation in technical capability required within the aircraft products technical community. Will have priorities including reduction of setup time, lot size reduction, variation reduction and an overall improvement in process capability and consistency. Will lead the effort to ensure that processing technology and capability is developing at the rate required to support the transformation to flow production. Will effectively communicate with other functions throughout the organization to successfully achieve objectives in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Service to our Customers.

Requirements

  • Only US Citizens, Green card holders, political asylees, or refugees are eligible to apply
  • Process improvement project experience is expected.
  • Must have a comprehensive solid understanding of manufacturing systems and technology, or related experience commensurate with the complexity associated with the PPG Aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Proven technical leadership abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or scientific field preferred, but not required with 1 to 3 years related experience.
