About The Position

This hands-on position will be an integral team member helping maximize production output, drive continuous manufacturing and assembly process improvement efforts, assisting with new product introductions, and assuring the effective utilization of equipment and materials while maintaining safety, quality and cost standards aimed at meeting customers’ quality, cost, and on-time delivery expectations.

Requirements

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Experience in investigating and implementing effective countermeasures.
  • Strong knowledge of product BOM structure creation, modification, routings as well as parts maintenance, i.e., change notices and action.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Understanding GD&T including geometric dimensioning and tolerances.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in NetSuite systems is preferred.
  • Experience designing, building, and/or debugging mechanical, electrical & electro-mechanical assemblies desired, as well as knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing projects/techniques.
  • Experience with ISO9001 requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage product quality during transfer to production, including design and process validation.
  • Resolve highly complex technical mechanical, electrical & electro-mechanical issues.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly line issues along with quality and offer direction of repair of mechanical assemblies, electrical assemblies, and PCB’s.
  • Analyze, develop, evaluate, implement, improve, and document manufacturing equipment, tooling, processes, and products.
  • Collaborate with planning and R&D design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing techniques and training on the shop floor including 5S, SMED, value stream mapping, etc.
  • Assist with analyzing and planning work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow and design layout of equipment and workspace for optimum efficiency and safety.
  • Evaluate rework and reject levels for design, process, and training improvement opportunities.
  • Institute process and product improvements resulting in a positive impact on production cycle time, product costs and product quality.
  • Confer with management, engineering and other team members regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Develop and evaluate equipment and processes to produce a high-quality product at a competitive cost.
  • Facilitate the development of corrective action plans to resolve both external & internal quality or delivery issues.
  • Conduct production feasibility reviews; generate assembly instructions and tooling.
  • Provide technical direction, and training for operators performing detailed process steps to ensure that production assemblers, testers, inspectors, and support staff have necessary skills, appropriate documentation, tooling, and process control capability.
  • Assist with ISO 9001 process implementation and maintenance.
