A Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that systems and equipment perform consistently and efficiently over time. Their responsibilities typically span across design, maintenance, and continuous improvement. This position works out of our Casa Grande, Arizona location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 2-4 years of experience in a regulated environment preferred
  • Accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement reliability strategies for equipment and systems
  • Define critical assets and prioritize reliability efforts based on risk and impact
  • Investigate equipment failures and production issues
  • Make recommendations and implement them based on RCA findings
  • Review maintenance activities to reduce unplanned downtime
  • Update maintenance programs based on recent trends and investigations
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and potential issues
  • Trend MTBF and MTTR metrics to identify bad actors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment design and operational procedures
  • Create documentation like CRs, FSIs, etc. to implement changes
  • Lead initiatives to reduce costs, improve uptime, and enhance safety
  • Work with Project Engineering and Division to introduce new pieces of equipment
  • Assess risks associated with equipment failure and develop mitigation plans
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Work with Engineering techs to train maintenance and on reliability best practices
  • Promote a culture of reliability across the organization
