About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting, improving, and optimizing assembly operations through direct engagement with production processes, equipment, and personnel. This is a highly hands-on role that combines engineering expertise with practical problem-solving on the manufacturing floor. The successful candidate will work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

Experience with automation, robotics, and assembly tooling.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience with ERP and MES systems.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality management systems.
CAD experience (Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar).

Responsibilities

Provide daily engineering support to assembly operations.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing documents, such as, Work instructions, standardized work, PFMEAs and assembly procedures.
Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Lead process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
Conduct time studies, line balancing activities, and workflow analysis.
Implement poka-yoke (error-proofing) solutions and process controls.
Design, specify, and implement assembly fixtures, tooling, and workstations.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
Support equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
Evaluate automation opportunities and assist with implementation projects.
Investigate manufacturing and assembly defects using structured problem-solving methods.
Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
Support PFMEA, control plan development, and process validation efforts.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
Lead manufacturing-related projects from concept through implementation.
Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
Coordinate activities with production, quality, maintenance, purchasing, and suppliers.
Support new product introductions and engineering change implementation.
Maintain a strong presence on the production floor.
Work directly with operators to identify process improvements and resolve production concerns.
Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
