About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in improving production performance by analyzing processes, identifying waste, and driving practical solutions on the floor. This role focuses on optimizing workflow through time studies, data analysis, and hands-on experimentation to eliminate bottlenecks and increase efficiency. Working closely with operations, contractors, and equipment suppliers, the Manufacturing Engineer designs and implements tooling, fixtures, and equipment improvements, with a strong emphasis on mechanical systems. The position also supports troubleshooting and continuous improvement of industrial equipment, including basic programming adjustments with external support as needed. This role requires a self-directed individual with a continuous improvement mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and proven experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing data-driven analysis with hands-on execution to deliver sustainable operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in Windows based operating systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical design and tooling fabrication
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar CAD system
  • Ability to work independently or in teams on a variety of projects
  • Ability to lead/participate in complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporates Lean Manufacturing tools to support the critical initiatives of improving manufacturing efficiency, improving quality, reducing scrap, increasing yield, meeting ship commitments, and driving down cycle-time through the development of new processes, optimizing work flows, space requirements, and equipment layouts.
  • Conduct time studies and review production data to find bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement
  • Plan and run experiments to improve process flow, reduce downtime, and increase output
  • Design or partner with contractors to develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment solutions
  • Troubleshoot and support industrial equipment with help from suppliers or external experts
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors on engineering projects and equipment design
  • Work independently with a strong focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving
  • Support a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing environment
  • Apply hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting to drive practical, sustainable improvements
  • Manage the CAPEX budget
  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
  • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of process intricacies and provide knowledge for troubleshooting and root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Utilize and comply with the Quality Management System.

  • Develop and maintain process specifications for production processes.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
