Here, you will make an impact by: Developing and implementing improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (productivity) in the Decatur Multi-Layer Optical Film (MOF) production areas. Assisting local and global manufacturing teams on rapid resolution of issues and complaints; including root cause analysis, timely response, communication, and implementation of corrective actions. Leading efforts to scale-up new products and work on cross-functional teams. Using Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement tools to drive improvements. Developing training, process standards, and other documentation supporting the operation of production lines. Covering production and experimental runs in a 24/7 manufacturing environment as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
  • An internship or one (1) year of experience in a private, public, government, or military environment in one or more of the following areas: process engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, process development or quality.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
  • Three years experience in private, public, government, or military environment in one or more of the following areas: process engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, process development or quality.
  • Experience in batch extrusion, film making, coating, and/or winding
  • Strong organization, communication, project management, and coaching skills.
  • Six Sigma or Quality Improvement training/certification.
  • Experience working on cross functional teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Project management experience.

Responsibilities
