About The Position

At Bloom Energy, we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Repair and Overhaul to join our team. This role is crucial in advancing our mission to provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions. You will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, implementing new technologies, and setting standards across our global facilities. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) technologies and contribute to a sustainable energy future.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering) required.
  • 5+ years engineering experience, preferably in an operations role, required.
  • Ability to understand, troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment & processes in a hands-on manner.
  • Demonstrated record of building up a successful team, motivating and coaching employees to excel.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) required to ensure the safety of the employee and others on the manufacturing floor.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas (i.e. safety glasses, safety-toe shoes, gloves, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rapid scale up of a new products and or operations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Devise novel ways to improve manufacturing processes, product flow, reduce waste using Lean Manufacturing techniques and culture.
  • Implement process/manufacturing technologies from proof of concept through production, including development and control of tools, software, fixtures and gauges to improve safety, quality, throughput, repeatability and ergonomics with the highest possible Return on Investment.
  • Set policies, procedures and standards to leverage best practices across multiple manufacturing facilities worldwide.
  • Review, initiate and monitor product and process changes/deviations (ECN, DCN, DEV).
