About The Position

This role provides daily manufacturing engineering support to production, focusing on troubleshooting process, quality, and equipment issues. The engineer will develop, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes and standard work for metal fabrication and assembly operations. Key activities include creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, supporting new product introductions, and leading root cause analysis for production and quality problems. The position also involves supporting sample builds, process trials, and engineering changes, as well as assisting with capacity analysis, costing, and capital equipment projects. Improving manufacturing layouts, material flow, ergonomics, tooling, and fixtures are also key responsibilities, along with cross-functional collaboration for training and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment supporting metal fabrication or assembly processes
  • Working knowledge of metalworking processes and materials
  • Proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with punching, forming, welding, tube bending, tube expansion, and sheet metal fabrication
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans, ERP systems (QAD preferred), and root cause methodologies
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Familiarity with gas combustion products, heat exchangers, or similar thermal/mechanical systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily manufacturing engineering support to production, including troubleshooting of process, quality, and equipment issues
  • Develop, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes and standard work for metal fabrication and assembly operations
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation such as process flows, PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions, and setup sheets
  • Support new product introductions, design for manufacturability reviews, and feasibility assessments
  • Lead or support root cause and corrective action activities to address production and quality issues
  • Support sample builds, process trials, and engineering changes to validate and improve manufacturing processes
  • Assist with capacity analysis, costing, and support of capital equipment projects
  • Improve manufacturing layouts, material flow, ergonomics, tooling, and fixtures
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support training, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives
