Requirements

  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours Monday - Friday (10:30pm - 7am), overtime and weekends as required
  • 1+ year of demonstrated factory support and manufacturing engineering knowledge (routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, capacity plans/line design, methods documentation, maintenance, quality plans and labor standards, troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Work experience in a team environment
  • Skills in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution

Nice To Haves

  • Robotics experience (Fanuc and ABB)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Knowledge of DC Electric torque equipment (Atlas Copco, Panasonic, and Stanley)
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (JDAAT, MPP, and/or AMES)
  • Experience with engineering CAD or 3D visualization software such as Creo
  • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing
  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) and work measurement

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and troubleshooting for current 3rd shift operations
  • Investigate, gather, and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks
  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope
  • Develop and/or procure tooling and mistake proofing for new processes and/or new parts
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) teams
  • Investigate product quality problems, determine root cause for quality problems, gather/analyze data and implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim
  • Use quality tools and practices to establish approval criteria to ensure the identification of quality failure concerns for both internal and external manufactured parts and assemblies
  • Execute John Deere Quality Control Plan where implemented
