About The Position

The F35 Aircraft Mate/ Forward Fuselage Manufacturing Engineer will directly support primarily the Mate production team. This role involves performing floor support to solve immediate production constraints, developing corrective actions to improve the production system, and reducing Scrap Rework and Repair (SRR) cost and hours per unit (HPU). The engineer will also update the manufacturing plan, perform manufacturing evaluations of engineering changes, handle QAR corrective actions, and create cost reduction initiatives. Other standard manufacturing engineering tasks such as Tool Trial Runs and Work Around Plans are also expected. This is a First Shift position located at a facility that requires special access, meaning the candidate must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Requirements

  • Experience with root cause analysis (RCCA)/corrective action.
  • Applied CATIA V5 experience or similar 3D software.
  • Experience reading engineering blueprints and tool designs.
  • Experience designing, prototyping tooling.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance per business requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Possess experience giving persuasive presentations.
  • Understanding Lean and Six Sigma Techniques.
  • Strong Excel experience.
  • Knowledge of F-35 production line practices and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems installation procedures and requirements
  • 2+ years of related experience
