A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and continuously improving a wide range of manufacturing processes. These processes include chemical coatings, vacuum coatings, mechanical assembly, vacuum operations, glass fabrication, polishing, and encapsulation within a job‑shop, labor‑intensive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Three plus years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Knowledge of equipment and process control software.
  • Analytical skills with ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improved yield, product quality, and overall process efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements by developing, testing, and validating changes using sound engineering practices.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement upgraded metrology tools and production equipment to enhance accuracy, consistency, and throughput.
  • Develop detailed process and equipment specifications, ensuring clarity for internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers.
  • Support suppliers in the delivery of materials, components, and equipment by providing technical guidance and requirements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with customers to obtain necessary approvals for process modifications and ensure changes meet all requirements.
  • Manage existing process control software, ensuring stability, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify and introduce improved process control software solutions to support enhanced monitoring, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop comprehensive program or project plans to drive initiatives to completion in a thorough timely, and organized manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel to company manufacturing sites, customers, suppliers.
