About The Position

Job Overview We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, specializing in production, to play a crucial role in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for our autonomous surface vessels. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality ASVs for the DoD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in the production of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics, or maritime technologies is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to autonomous maritime systems.
  • This role requires access to export-controlled information or items that require “U.S. Person” status. As defined by U.S. law, individuals who are any one of the following are considered to be a “U.S. Person”: (1) U.S. citizens, (2) legal permanent residents (a.k.a. green card holders), and (3) certain protected classes of asylees and refugees, as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for the production of autonomous surface vessels.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the production workflow.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design specifications into the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and qualify materials necessary for production.
  • Establish and implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of product quality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any production issues.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate advancements into the manufacturing process.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to applicable standards.
  • Provide training and support to production personnel to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and address any issues that may arise during the production process.
