Check out our website to discover the Tenneco WayJOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer leads engineering support and continuous improvement initiatives to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. This role partners cross-functionally to ensure robust processes, reliable equipment, and successful product launches while promoting a Lean, data-driven culture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred
Experience with APQP and/or core tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC) preferred
Automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing experience preferred
Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Working knowledge of CAD and data analysis tools
Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and automation improvements
Ensure compliance with EHS, quality systems, and customer requirements
Lead capital projects from justification through installation and validation
Drive equipment reliability and process capability improvements with Maintenance and Quality
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, and structured problem-solving tools
Track and report performance metrics (productivity, scrap, safety, delivery)
Support new product launches including APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP readiness
Develop and maintain process documentation, standards, and work instructions
Partner with leadership to execute plant CI strategy and support operational readiness
Coach and influence teams on CI tools, accountability, and standard work
