Requirements

  • High school diploma/equivalence
  • 4 year (B.S.) degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Design or related area of study) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) desired
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal forming, welding, lasers and assembly operations
  • GD&T
  • 10+ years project management, automotive product design and manufacturing experience
  • Ability to speak a second language helpful but not required
  • Metal Stamping and assembly experience preferred
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with associates and customers in either individual or group settings
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and a thorough approach toward project management
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent mechanical/technical abilities
  • Ability to read, write, speak English
  • Proficiency in PC spreadsheet applications
  • Negotiation skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative
  • Support production, maintenance with preproduction and production operations in regards to tooling, processes and equipment
  • Lead the Buyoff and Signoff documentation for review and implementation of standards (Customer stds, Cosma stds, CQI, CAT, etc.) for equipment, tooling and processes for audits
  • Develop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment such as robots, robot controllers, and programmable controllers into manufacturing process
  • Oversee purchase and installation of machinery & equipment to ensure specifications are met
  • Test ability of machines (such as robots) to perform tasks
  • Develop operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions
  • Determine parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field
  • Interface with co-workers in other departments such as maintenance and manufacturing to provide technical information and support
  • Support EBM project team and project manager as an active team member with the completion of timelines, action items, APQP documentation and CPMP information
  • Provide engineering support for the duration of the program including tool design reviews, tryouts, launch support
  • Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
  • Support and enforce compliance to TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
  • Provide a safe and healthful work environment that is free of all recognized hazards for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Advise employees, contractors and visitors of any actual or potential danger to their safety or health and ensure the necessary training and/or personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
  • Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
  • Know, follow and enforce all applicable SH&E Rules, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Help manage Safety Performance Measurables such as incident rate, monthly inspection results and EOS scores.
  • Overall performance to the measurable elements of our SH&E system are part of annual performance review.
