About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will be a key player in setting up and improving our manufacturing processes. The Engineer is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of our BESS (Torus Pulse) and FESS (Torus Spin) products. The role is responsible for designing manufacturing fixtures, selecting equipment, building & optimizing production flows, automating processes, and other similar duties. As a start up, there will be times when this role will require work outside its typical duties.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, including Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience developing new manufacturing processes
  • Experience with industrial automation tools such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion systems
  • Experience designing tooling, jigs, and/or fixtures using SolidWorks
  • Experience optimizing production processes
  • Experience integrating robotics, automated test equipment, or control systems into manufacturing environments
  • Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering degree or related field is required
  • 1-5+ years related experience (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Specify, source and implement key production equipment, tooling, automated machinery, and robotics.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
  • Identify opportunities for automation within assembly, test, and material-handling processes.
  • Develop, program, and implement automation systems (PLC-, PC-, or microcontroller-based) to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Lead in the “Design For Manufacturing” and continuous improvement process through the assigned product lines.
  • Support product development activities.
  • Complete other tasks as necessary.
