About The Position

This role provides advanced technical support for injection molding operations, focusing on machine capability, mold capability, material processing, process control, and auxiliary equipment. The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as an advanced troubleshooter for production-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to enhance manufacturing performance. Key responsibilities include optimizing cycle times, processes, equipment utilization, and overall production efficiency, as well as validating manufacturing processes to meet customer and internal requirements. The role also involves coordinating tooling and auxiliary equipment modifications to improve molding processes and meet customer specifications. Additionally, the position focuses on continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives, leading projects for cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and SMED implementation. The engineer will develop and improve work-cell layouts using ergonomics and Lean principles, and quantify the impact of improvement projects. The role also requires representing Manufacturing on New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) expertise, and assisting with the transition of new equipment and processes. Training and supporting operations personnel on new equipment and processes is also a key function. The role involves providing manufacturing expertise for customer complaint investigations, developing preventive actions for quality issues, and working directly with customer representatives. Maintaining accurate project and process documentation is essential.
