About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate manufacturing and fabrication methods by developing, evaluating, and improving production processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will also utilize knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication strategies, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or related field.
  • One (1) – two (2) or more years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of heavy fabrication manufacturing and/or welding automation.
  • Proficiency in navigating and interpreting welding codes.
  • Thorough understanding of GMAW welding equipment and related welding processes.
  • Knowledge of equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.
  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review and develop welding procedures according to applicable codes and standards.
  • Support future automation needs including cost analysis, programming, and integration.
  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks related to fabrication processes.
  • Responsible for managing projects or parts of a project to ensure quality of work while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production builds.
  • Review and recommend fixture and tooling designs.
  • Analyze space requirements, workflow and designs layout for equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Review and process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, continuous improvement requests etc.
  • Participate in cost studies, project time estimation, and technical proposals.
  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh Corporation’s engineering standards and processes.
  • Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may be responsible for managing multiple projects.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production build.
  • Analyze space requirements, workflow and designs layout for equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Review and process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, continuous improvement requests etc.
  • Participate in cost studies, project time estimation, and technical proposals.
  • Review legislative and regulatory proposals or actions to determine impact on projects.
  • Review and recommend fixture and tooling design.
