The purpose of this role is to lead the development and implementation of electrical tooling and hardware solutions within GM manufacturing plants and ensure the strategy is translated into repeatable, executable, and sustainable plant processes that support Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV goals. As an Tooling & Equipment Manufacturing Engineer, you will create, develop, and implement tooling and equipment solutions for Vehicle as a Tester (VaaT) deployment across manufacturing plants. You will lead plant implementation planning and execution for electrical tooling and hardware, including downtime coordination, installation planning, tooling development, onsite launch support, and continuous improvement. Supporting the plants to make it happen for our customers through hands-on engineering, technical ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and practical solution development. This role requires an engineer who can turn ambiguous manufacturing and plant needs into robust tooling and hardware solutions. Success in this role depends on the ability to define the problem, create the concept, guide development, validate the solution, and lead execution through launch. This role is not limited to coordinating suppliers—it requires technical ownership of the solution from concept through plant implementation.
