About The Position

Provides support to Manufacturing Engineering team in development, improvement, maintenance, and elimination of nonconformance in quality and manufacturing engineering processes at the Vidalia, GA location. This role utilizes the Lean philosophy to make improvements or troubleshoot production processes, looks for opportunities to eliminate nonconformance or frequent production errors, and performs tests in support of new manufacturing processes. The position works closely with supervisors and plant leaders, interacts with production employees, and communicates with external stakeholders such as machine manufacturers. Responsibilities include providing documentation for operator method sheets on how to run essential equipment, working with the lead engineer on restoring equipment to operational state using measurement analysis, and training operators on skilled equipment to produce components meeting specifications. The role requires the ability to execute test plans and gather data to improve processes on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Familiarity with the Lean philosophy
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment on skilled equipment
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to train others
  • Broad manufacturing engineering knowledge
  • Knowledge of manufacturing machinery within the plants and any complimentary certifications
  • Knowledge and ability to use many hand tools
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and problem solve
  • Ability to learn or use excel for data collection
