Manufacturing Engineer Senior

American IT Systems•Dublin, VA

About The Position

This role involves leading and supporting new process trials and providing engineering support for current production to ensure stable, efficient manufacturing operations. The position focuses on establishing and maintaining optimal production methods, standards, tooling, and equipment for assigned products and processes. A key aspect is driving manufacturing safety, ergonomics, and efficiency improvements through process changes and continuous safety initiatives. Collaboration with Materials and cross-functional teams is essential for optimizing material flow, organization, and placement using Lean principles. The role also includes coordinating the implementation of new products and engineering changes, ensuring proper balance of work timing, processes, and manpower requirements. Partnership with Engineering and Materials teams for manufacturing design reviews, process development, prototype builds, and launch readiness is expected. The position requires identifying and implementing process improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance quality, cost, and delivery performance. Analyzing assembly operations and driving continuous improvement through data analysis, problem-solving, and lean manufacturing application are critical. Developing and maintaining accurate production standards using predetermined time systems (MCTM/MOST) and ensuring adherence to engineering standards, plant procedures, and compliance requirements are also key responsibilities. The role involves identifying and executing cost reduction and manpower optimization opportunities through process design and assembly configuration improvements. Providing technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Manufacturing Engineers is expected, supporting their development. Leading and executing engineering programs within the area of responsibility to meet production, timing, and business objectives, and interfacing with plant personnel to achieve production targets, manpower balance, and operational goals are also part of the role.
