About The Position

This role is part of the combined Program Management / Product Launch Team and may consist of launch or program management work. The advanced career level Manufacturing Program Manager is able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to lead results through influence. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing plant where creativity and initiative are exercised, as well as independent judgment. The role is categorized as onsite, meaning the successful candidate is expected to report to Rochester on a full-time basis. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with various machining and assembly processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot

Nice To Haves

  • Led capital equipment build projects with OEM partners while meeting schedule and budget targets.
  • Proven experience in interpreting and utilizing blueprints and machine schematics.
  • Ability to address and evaluate a diverse range of issues using innovative methods and proposing alternative approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Individual contributor who will lead through influence
  • Lead, organize, follow, and ensure results for product changes throughout the lifecycle of the product
  • Deliver launch milestones in accordance with Program Timing
  • Drive Launch & Program level quality
  • Ownership of respective product change review board & corresponding change leader duties (use of GM GMCH Teamcenter software)
  • Coordinate all associated launch activities for respective programs following APQP, MQRR, and other GM specific launch processes.
  • Ensure all launching and current products are compliant with GMS (GM Global Manufacturing System)
  • Utilize advanced problem solving and continuous improvement tools to reduce cost (RedX, OpEx, etc.)
  • Support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and documentation to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization, in-person & virtually, to ensure manufacturability of new products and components.
