About The Position

As a Junior Engineer at Linamar, you will assist in planning and designing complex manufacturing processes within an industrial plant. You will support the improvement of production methods, determine manufacturing capacity, and set production schedules, while collaborating closely with senior engineers and other technical staff.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practice as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Easytalk, and MasterCam; understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • A willingness to participate in professional development and stay updated on advances in the engineering field.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, including Global Operating System Plays, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, standards.
  • Assist in tracking and optimizing facility performance indicators to balance customer, employee, and financial satisfaction.
  • Participate in lean initiatives and maintain department 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing support staff to resolve tooling-related issues and investigate new manufacturing and tooling methods.
  • Assist in defining plant layout and ergonomic requirements and participate in Advance Quality Planning (AQP) activities.
  • Identify and resolve process scrap issues and support the implementation of changes in manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in introducing new products and processes, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain and update tool lists, setup instructions, and work instructions.
  • Support corrective action processes, FMEA development, and CAT activities to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
