Position Overview: As our Manufacturing Engineer, Junior, you will establish and refine manufacturing procedures while preparing and maintaining shop documentation in accordance with quality system requirements. You will assess and resolve non-conforming conditions impacting product quality and support shop operations, including facilities and equipment maintenance, upgrades, and installations. In addition, you will design tooling to enable efficient and safe shop activities. This role reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and operates within the Component Engineering team, with a primary focus on supporting manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • New graduates or candidates with less than 2 years of experience preferred; prior co-op or engineering exposure considered an asset
  • Basic understanding of drafting principles, geometry, trigonometry, and algebra; CAD/SolidWorks experience considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to grammar and clarity
  • Familiarity with modern office tools, procedures, and computer systems
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform precise calculations
  • Willingness and ability to learn engineering standards, codes, and technical documentation practices
  • Ability to develop engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation with guidance
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn technical engineering tasks in both office and field environments

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain shop documentation, including routings, resource planning, and quality requirements
  • Investigate and resolve non-conforming product issues in collaboration with Quality, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and support manufacturing procedures across fitting, welding, machining, assembly, and testing
  • Establish and maintain time standards to support scheduling and performance tracking
  • Maintain databases for tooling, consumables, and shop practices
  • Participate in pre-manufacturing reviews to ensure tooling, equipment, and processes are in place
  • Design and support tooling, fixtures, and equipment, including basic analysis and vendor coordination
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by refining existing processes
  • Collaborate with shop personnel and provide guidance or training on manufacturing processes
