About The Position

Aerosonic, a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment, is seeking an on-site Manufacturing Engineer Intern for its Clearwater, FL facility. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity for a self-starter looking to develop their career in a dynamic aerospace company. The intern will be involved in developing and updating standard operating procedures, creating technical documentation and work instructions, documenting process flows and specifications, and assisting with tooling design and router updates. There will also be an opportunity to work with automation and 3D printing.

Requirements

• Currently attending an accredited university for a degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
• Must be available full-time for six months.
• Must possess the ability to work in and around an Engineering environment in a safe manner.
• Must be able to work with ITAR products and related data without restriction.
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with office support programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solidworks (or equivalent CAD software)).
• Strong problem-solving skills using sound judgment and attention to detail.
• 3D Printing Experience.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected person).

Responsibilities

• Development of manufacturing processes and updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to incorporate process improvements, changes in equipment, and/or new regulatory requirements.
• Creation of step-by-step guides for work instructions for technicians, and development of visual aids and updating routers.
• Development of Process Flow Diagrams to document the sequence of operations, workflows, and interactions between different stages of production, and process specifications to detail specific process parameters.
• Working with Engineers to design fixturing.
• Updating routers.
• Opportunity to work with automation.
