Job Summary: This position will support the Operations organization and products and processes. The position will be responsible for continuous improvement strategies for batch chemical processing and packaging of liquid products. Additionally, the position will be required to work independently reviewing business systems and implementing new techniques into production areas. This position will afford the candidate a broad-based exposure to various business areas including Quality, Finance, Integrated Supply Chain and Production & Design Engineering.

Requirements

  • Must currently be successfully enrolled in a cooperative education program pursuing your Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Comfortable working safely in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Possess strong analytic and statistic skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. of various raw materials
  • Able to wear a half-face respirator (no beards, mustache and goatee are acceptable))
  • Able to work for short periods of time in 95F environments
  • Able to stand for one-hour periods

Responsibilities

  • Improving quality through analysis of process flow, failure modes, and controls.
  • Recommend and implement improved control methods, including automation and measurement techniques.
  • Improving product packaging methods and flow.
  • Mistake proofing, quick change-over, and automation.
  • Determine process capacity in terms of both machine and man-hours.
  • Follows all Company safety procedures, safe work and good housekeeping practices.
  • Participates in and supports the Company’s Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
