All internship positions are designed to give college students an opportunity to apply techniques learned in an academic setting while obtaining new skills. This is a paid internship offering full-time hours during the summer months. All interns are required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work. Please note that no relocation assistance or sponsorship is provided for the internship program at this time. Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team to assist in the planning, design, validation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes. Ensure systems are running according to specifications and within regulations to produce quality products. Identify improvements to enable Manufacturing to achieve optimum efficiency while producing high quality products.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the internship
  • Must have completed (at minimum) the sophomore year of college
  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Manufacturing, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills are required to facilitate collaboration between several departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and installation of automated systems including sensors, servo motors, robotics, camera systems, and other instrumentation.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis of manufacturing equipment. Follow through with documented procedure changes and required ECOs.
  • Assist with development and execution of validation protocols for manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Assist with generation and revision of manufacturing procedures.
  • Develop and or improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, equipment utilization, and process efficiency.
  • Work closely with other Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to generate required validation protocols and Engineering Change Orders (ECO)
  • Participate in process development for new products transfers.
  • Generate material specifications and inspection records for new parts.
