About The Position

The Engineering Internship program is a 12-week program preparing engineering focused students with exposure and experience to the different aspects of manufacturing within ASSA ABLOY. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The internship program is a 12-week program designed to give current engineering students exposure to different manufacturing facilities focused on the full life cycle process. Interns will learn about the ASSA ABLOY culture, network with leaders of the company and receive leadership training. The majority of the time will be spent completing on-the-job field training in the 12-week period. During the summer, Interns will be exposed to all elements of manufacturing, in many cases performing each role for a day or part of a day to understand each phase of the process. Intern will be responsible for running a small project. Interns will partner with departments to understand the plant and can include non-manufacturing roles like HR, Finance, Purchasing, Sourcing and Logistics (if stated interest). Internship Location: Monroe, NC

Requirements

  • Majoring in Engineering
  • Must have completed Freshman and Sophomore year of college
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Express ideas and information in a clear and concise manner
  • Recognize and respond effectively to unexpected situations and tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing task priorities and work situations
  • Demonstrate ability to complete tasks regardless of obstacles
