About The Position

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components to help customers push the frontiers of innovation. AEC's core strength is its ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components using a unique blend of products including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies. This allows AEC to produce composite components and products that meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites. The Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for activities such as machining and composite materials layout and assembly. They adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions, and plan the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout. The role involves planning the sequence of operations and specifying procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, as well as other functions that affect product performance. The Manufacturing Engineer may also incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

Requirements

  • BS in designated Engineering or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • DMAIC, DFSS, LEAN, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Mistake Proofing, DOE, DFx
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action / Nonconformance Disposition (MRB)
  • Production and Assembly Environment (Composite Lay Up, Cure, Paint, and NDI)
  • Machine shop environment (Composite Machining) as a manufacturing engineer
  • New Product Development / New Business Development
  • Shop Planning Generation (MS Word Products, etc)
  • Working in/Leading a multi—disciplined team
  • GD&T
  • CATIA V5

Nice To Haves

  • Green Belt Certified a plus
  • Experience in Windchill, and SAP a plus
  • Aerospace manufacturing a plus
