As a manufacturing engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role in improving how we manufacture our products—driving efficiency, quality, safety, and cost improvements across the plant. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts

Nice To Haves

  • Automation, controls and robotics experience preferred
  • Experience supporting process improvements or engineering projects preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools such as Kaizen, DMAIC, standard work, value stream mapping, and 5S.
  • Improve manufacturing processes, work cell layouts, material flow, and line balancing to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, including defining scope, timelines, costs, and expected benefits.
  • Support capital expenditure projects by developing justifications, coordinating implementation, and ensuring successful startup and sustainability.
  • Partner with operators, team leaders, value stream managers, planners, purchasing, and operations leaders to support daily manufacturing activities.
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor to troubleshoot process, tooling, and equipment issues.
  • Advise and collaborate with maintenance teams on equipment repairs, improvements, and reliability enhancements.
  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for product and documentation updates.
  • Design and develop tooling, fixtures, gauges, visual aids, and work instructions to support safe and efficient production.
  • Contribute to the annual nVent Integrated Management System (PIMS) implementation plan based on value stream mapping and business metrics.
  • Support efforts to reduce waste, improve employee safety, and increase overall plant efficiency.
