About The Position

Using established procedures and working under immediate supervision, performs a variety of engineering assignments in developing and implementing production processing methods and controls to meet quality and safety standards in the most cost-efficient manner. This position reports directly to the Operation Manager. The role involves collaborating and providing support with various functional areas within engineering, manufacturing, and quality. The primary focus is to develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace fasteners from raw material through finished product. This includes providing engineering support for fastener manufacturing processes such as heading, thread rolling, grinding, machining, heat treatment, and related secondary operations. The engineer will evaluate existing manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for improvement in throughput, quality, productivity, and cost, and analyze performance data (scrap, rework, downtime, cycle time) to implement improvements. The role also involves determining the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing methods, performing quoting/costing of new or existing products, and understanding various manufacturing processes for aerospace fasteners. Recommendations and implementation of improvements or modifications in manufacturing sequences of operations are expected, as is participation in cost reduction and continuous improvement projects. Manufacturing support, including weekend and second shift coverage at month-end, is required. The position involves setting up and changing bills of materials and/or manufacturing methods, and supporting internal and external audits (AS9100, NADCAP). The engineer should thrive in a fast-paced lean environment.
