About The Position

The Advanced Products and Solutions division of Raytheon is seeking an Engineer to work in a manufacturing engineering team supporting Electro-Optical/Infrared(EO/IR) products in a factory production environment on second shift. This individual must be self-motivated and will work with a cross functional team including engineering, factory management, program management, and operations assembly and test. The work assignment will be manufacturing support of the Multi-Spectral Targeting (MTS) system variants produced in the McKinney, TX Consolidated Manufacturing Center. This is a second shift role and standard workdays will be Monday through Friday. There will also be weekend work approximately one day a month required in support of a weekend rotation schedule. The initial onboarding and training will be on first shift for a period not to exceed 6 months, after which the role will transition to second shift.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or related engineering field (or 0 years and a Master’s degree in a related field)
  • Experience in the use of standard electrical equipment such as an oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies, etc.
  • Strong technical aptitude as shown by strong grades or hands on experience
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, only U.S. citizens can acquire clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge with common circuit components (Op-Amps, Multiplexers, H-bridge, ADC, DAC, etc.).
  • Experience reading memory maps, schematics, & datasheets
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities on multiple tasks
  • Experience resolving issues with dimensional tolerances or experience testing, troubleshooting and documenting test results
  • Experience reading drawings
  • The ability to perform complex analysis with minimal guidance
  • Experience in designing experiments for troubleshooting and investigations
  • Experience in data analysis for identifying trends and improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Existing security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting systems failing test, identifying failure cause, and dispositioning hardware for repair.
  • Investigation of failure trends for root cause and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Troubleshooting circuit card assemblies (CCAs), sub-assemblies and systems of EO/IR products.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting aids.
  • Work on producibility improvements (reductions in cycle time, touch time, and general cost).
