About The Position

Provide Operations Engineering support to the Circuit Card Manufacturing Factory located in Andover, MA. Primary responsibilities will be to support the Factory’s procurement of special tooling. This includes working with the using area to obtain necessary Technical Data, Use data, Process Equipment limitations, calibration requirements, and Funding types. Tracking order completions through both internal and external sources, ensuring completed tooling is properly marked and calibrated. Additional responsibilities include process improvement, cycle time reduction, defect prevention, and operations support. Role requires participation in process improvement initiatives, establishment of process base-line metrics, Defect prevention, and process data analysis. Role will likely include the creation of Manufacturing Data Packages (Process Sheets) based off Technical Data Sheets.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3
  • Experience with supporting circuit card assembly production floor, (process and/or quality focus).
  • Surface Mount, Auto Insert, Wave Solder, Depanelizing, Assembly, Conformal Coat, Inspection
  • Specialized Tooling Development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development)
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Six Sigma principles and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee special tooling orders
  • Translating engineering design requirements into special tooling, including true positioning or dimensional requirements
  • Work with Value Streams to determine tooling requirements for New Tools, Re-orders, Repairs, or Revision changes
  • Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics and reductions in cost and/or defects.
  • Instruct/Assist with the proper dispositioning of unused, damaged, or scrap fixtures
  • Assist in creation or tracking of Government Special Tooling / Property Control
  • Assist in root cause and corrective action investigations to solve problems and prevent recurrence
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodology
  • Manufacturing process development
  • Interaction with senior personnel on technical matters often requires coordination between organizations and / or suppliers.
  • Facilitate communication between Tool Design, Value Stream, and product design to ensure design activities move forward in a timely manner
  • Monitor and improve performance metrics such as aged orders, priority orders, release to production, etc.
