Requirements

  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in Solid Works for the design of components and full assemblies.
  • Able to interpret customer specifications and purchase order agreements/requirements.
  • Prepare manufacturing plans and any related documents.
  • Initiate and lead general process improvements and initiatives.
  • Understanding and knowledge of basic forging principles.
  • Excellent organization and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Safety and security orientation by actively promoting and personally observing safety and security procedures and using equipment and materials properly.
  • Utilize problem-solving (5 Whys, etc.) and Lean manufacturing tools for process improvements.
  • General understanding of Automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Syteline (or other ERP systems) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Grow into a Manufacturing Process Subject Matter Expert through extensive monitoring of production processes in the Saw, Forging, Heat Treat, Test Lab, Machining, Die Control, Processing, and Inspection Departments.
  • Develop strong relationships with both Operators and Process Owners to facilitate effective communication and collaboration for improvements.
  • Employ a hands-on approach with a constant learning mindset within the production environment to develop an intimate process understanding, to enhance safety, efficiency, reduce cost, and improve product quality.
  • Provide support to process owners in identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions for product and process deviations.
  • Collaborate with the training coordinator to develop effective SOPs for multiple departmental tasks and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Design Engineering team to provide operational knowledge and support in the process development for new product introduction (NPI).
  • Collaborate with plant services (maintenance) for improvements to production equipment, including design and fabrication instructions for tangible improvement solutions.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineering to aid in efforts to remove human error from operational processes through automation and controls improvements.
  • Provide support to the Front-End Operations Manager in evaluating and developing new processes and equipment for an evolving manufacturing environment.
