Manufacturing Engineer I
About The Position
The Manufacturing Engineer I evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication and machining processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation involved with the assembly and qualification of the company’s products. Represents the Manufacturing organization in the New Product Development (NPD) process.
Requirements
- Experience in component manufacture and machine assembly techniques
- Experience in metrology concepts
- Experience in lean manufacturing and quality concepts and techniques
- Experience in design of work process instructions and the implementation thereof
- Experience in design for manufacture / design for assembly (DFM / DFA) techniques
- Experience in product structure and bill of material creation and maintenance.
- Experience in electrical and/or hydraulic controls desired.

Responsibilities
- Create and maintain complete and accurate assembly work instructions – designs and specifies processes / techniques used to manufacture the company products and components therein.
- Create and maintain inspection sheets
- Create work instructions, as required, for field and service installations and repair.
- Participate in design reviews, ensuring that DFA / DFM concepts are considered.
- Order tooling required (for assembly, runoff and field service). Participate in establishing design requirements for tooling.
- Develop safe and effective processes / procedures in compliance with all known standards and in keeping with the state of the art.
- Review engineering changes with respect to assembly operations, modify routings and work instructions as required.
- Support field service and repair sales
- Review assembly tooling for obsolescence
- Support shop-floor operations
