About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer I will perform root cause failure analysis, cost reduction evaluations, and implement process improvements. This role provides customer technical support, creates and updates manufacturing standard procedures and work instructions, and assists operations personnel with processing issues. The engineer will also make proposals for specification changes, research and create CapEx proposals, and manage special projects to completion. Additionally, the role requires adherence to plant and corporate safety and quality policies, providing guidance to technicians, and assisting in other areas as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor degree (B.S.) in engineering or related discipline from a four year college or university.
Two or more years of work experience in engineering in a manufacturing setting.
Exposure to or training in Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence is required.
Ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers.
Ability to speak, read and write in English.
Highly organized, self-motivated and works independently.
Able to manage multiple tasks and/or priorities and readily adapt to changing situations.
Ability to use precision measuring and laboratory instruments, such as FTIR, U/V vis spectrophotometer, calipers, scales, micrometers, profilometer or similar test/inspection equipment.
May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other lower-level personnel.
Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
Demonstrated analytical and technical ability within field of expertise.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Demonstrated capacity to work with Microsoft Office Products, Lotus Notes and other critical computer applications.

Adheres to plant and corporate safety and quality policies.
Provides guidance and information to technicians.
Assists in other areas or accepts other assignments as required by changing business needs.
