About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer I, you will assist in designing and improving manufacturing processes and systems using lean manufacturing and project management skills to collaborate with other engineers, production operations and R&D teams, and analyze and optimize production methods and workflows. Your goal is to maximize productivity and quality while minimizing costs. Manufacturing Engineer I plays a key role in supporting the manufacturing team and contributes to the company's mission to deliver the highest levels of quality, service and value to our customers. The Manufacturing Engineer I demonstrates a commitment to innovation and a focus on enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and fostering operational excellence within the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in an advanced high-mix manufacturing environment and Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Familiarity with a production environment and advanced manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Mastery of MS Office suite, specifically Excel
  • Project management experience, specifically capital research/installation projects
  • Master Data management experience helpful
  • SolidWorks experience

Nice To Haves

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer
  • Visual Basics programming
  • CMM programming
  • SAP experience

Responsibilities

  • Project research, justification, and implementation
  • Master data maintenance (materials, bill of materials, pricing & routings)
  • Master data projects (mass fixes, queries, reporting)
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in the plant in terms of safety, quality, cost and delivery
  • Proactively participates in cross-functional teams
  • Supports project plans, budgets, value stream/facility layouts, master data, routings, capacity analysis, and make/buy analyses.
  • Works with the Tool Room to create tooling and fixture designs, including installation and follow-up
  • Participates in direct and indirect labor analyses, line balancing, flow analysis and process optimization
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge and understanding of lean principles and methods
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to minor and major new product introductions
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Work with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability
