About The Position

Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication (Senior or Lead) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Senior or Lead Level Manufacturing Engineer to support the Fabrication division in Puyallup, WA . A successful candidate will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable drive for process improvement and efficiency. They should also enjoy being on the factory floor, interacting with mechanics, and directly supporting the production system. The manufacturing Engineer will lead systemic improvements in our work instruction processes. This position will translate new process requirements and apply them to training multiple teams in process improvements. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. Experience with project management, root cause analysis, and machining operations is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
  • 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience ( Senior )

Nice To Haves

  • 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Lead)
  • Experience in airplane fabrication processes
  • Experience with project management, root cause analysis, and machining operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, complex producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies.
  • Refines, validates, coordinates and implements conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build.
  • Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization.
  • Conducts complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
  • Resolves complex technical problems.
  • Serves as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained.
  • Leads advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities.
  • Deploys company Lean Enterprise analysis methods.
  • Documents and communicates producibility best practices.
  • Provides guidance to others through structured mentoring.
