PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer IV/CNC Programmer to support a world-class energy manufacturing operation focused on advanced combustion technologies. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in CNC programming, machining strategies, process optimization, and manufacturing technology to improve quality, efficiency, and operational excellence in a cutting-edge production environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or engineering degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience using a graphical CAM system.
  • Experience developing 5-axis CNC machining programs.
  • 3+ years of experience with Okuma and Haas controls.
  • Hands-on machining background with the ability to setup, prove out, and optimize first-piece programs.
  • Experience with Sub-routines and macro programming
  • Experience with Variable-based programming
  • Experience with Renishaw probing systems
  • Experience with Closed Loop Machining (CLM)
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, geometry, and trigonometry skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Siemens NX CAM experience (highly preferred).
  • Experience with Vericut CNC verification and machine simulation software.
  • Familiarity with Okuma MU10000 or similar large-format machining centers.
  • Extensive machining experience with nickel-based superalloys including: Inconel Rene Alloys Hastelloy
  • Background supporting Heavy Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT), aerospace, or similarly demanding manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing tight tolerances where thermal stability, work hardening, and material deflection are critical considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, validate, and maintain CNC programs utilizing Siemens NX CAM and related software platforms.
  • Develop complex 5-axis machining programs for milling, grinding, and EDM applications.
  • Verify CNC programs using Vericut or equivalent simulation tools prior to production release.
  • Incorporate Renishaw probing cycles, error trapping, and process validation methods into machining strategies.
  • Support manufacturing engineers and operators during new machine installations, process improvements, and production launches.
  • Provide daily CNC programming, troubleshooting, and technical support to shop floor operations.
  • Develop and implement tooling, fixturing, and machining solutions that improve process capability and productivity.
  • Create and maintain workstation instructions and manufacturing methods documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to solve complex production challenges.
  • Train operators and manufacturing personnel on new CNC programs, processes, and best practices.
