Manufacturing Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist
About The Position
Novolex is seeking a Manufacturing Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist who thrives on solving tough electrical problems in a production environment. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, installing, and configuring production equipment to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include documenting work orders, using electrical meters and analyzers to identify root causes, interpreting drawings and schematics, diagnosing PLC hardware issues, and supporting automated equipment. The specialist will also apply NEC rules, manage multiple tasks under pressure, and collaborate with operators, peers, and leaders, with schedule flexibility as needed.
Requirements
- 1 year as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician; OR 2 years related trade/technical school; OR 4 years Industrial/Manufacturing experience with strong electrical competencies.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and a safety-first mindset.
- Comfort working independently, side-by-side with trades/operations, and within a team with limited supervision.
- Physical readiness: stand for extended periods; climb, kneel, squat, crawl; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Schedule flexibility to meet production needs.
- Knowledge base: electrical equipment and instrumentation/controls; AC/DC motors and MCCs; electrical distribution; AC variable frequency and DC drives; PLCs/automation; OSHA-compliant industrial practices.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, install, and configure production equipment to reduce downtime.
- Close out work orders with accurate documentation and clear communication.
- Use electrical meters and analyzers; interpret results to confirm root cause and fix.
- Decode and apply drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
- Diagnose PLC hardware issues and support automated equipment.
- Apply NEC rules; plan and prioritize multiple tasks while working under pressure.
- Partner with operators, peers, and leaders; flex your schedule as needed.
