This position is for a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer who will join the Manufacturing support team at the Collins Aerospace Cedar Rapids facility. The position will support manufacturing test for the Displays IPT. You will be tasked with evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing problems related to design, process and supplier issues. Successful candidates have familiarity with LEAN principles and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, troubleshooting, or testing.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with root cause analysis.
  • Experience with Lean Sigma principles.
  • Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for complex products.
  • Eliminate or reduce test defects, improve test yields, and analyze test data using statistical process control techniques.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve test failures.
  • Implement and maintain test methods and processes for subassemblies, modules, and top-level products, especially for new or challenging product lines.
  • Provide technical assistance, training to test technicians, and maintain accurate test documentation with proper configuration management.
  • Resolve conflicts in documentation and process definitions while ensuring adherence to engineering standards.
  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems and recommend producibility projects to reduce support costs.
  • Evaluate test approaches, plans, and processes for cost reduction opportunities.
