About The Position

The Manufacturing Development Program (MDP) at Niagara is a 15-month rotational program designed to provide participants with hands-on experience across various functions and departments within a leading beverage manufacturer. The program aims to develop leaders of people or processes through practical experience, project work, and professional development. Participants will spend 9 months rotating through plant departments such as Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse, and potentially Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, or Quality Assurance. The final 6 months involve acting as a Plant Supervisor to understand the role's scope and importance to plant performance, preparing participants for leadership positions. Relocation after program completion is encouraged to broaden job opportunities.

Requirements

  • 0 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
  • 0 Years – Experience managing people/projects (experience may include a combination of work experience and education)
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 Years– Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
  • 2 Years – Experience managing people/projects
  • 1 Year - internship experience (experience may include a combination of work experience and education)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or any field

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through plant departments including Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse, with potential rotations in operations, engineering, human resources, or quality assurance.
  • Work on cost or time-saving projects impactful to the plant.
  • Act as a Plant Supervisor for 6 months to understand the role and its importance to plant performance.
  • Engage leadership and problem-solving skills in people and technical issues.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and professional development.
  • Complete cross-departmental projects.
  • Present experiences and project outcomes to local and regional leadership.
  • Attend department/manager meetings and action plan based on feedback.
  • Lead a shift in a manufacturing environment for 6 months.
  • Travel to other plant locations for a minimum of 3 weeks.
  • Work in all aspects of manufacturing.
