About The Position

As a Manufacturing Development Engineer III, you will support the design and development of new and existing electrical connector products with a focus on manufacturability. This role is responsible for all manufacturing aspects of new product development, including process selection, tooling, testing, and implementation of manufacturing documentation. Collaborates closely with Product Development and Product Management to ensure designs meet customer requirements and can be efficiently manufactured. Works cross-functionally with Process Engineering, Tooling, Testing, Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively troubleshoot complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Development and Product Management to ensure product designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with customer requirements.
  • Partner with Manufacturing teams to evaluate new product designs and determine appropriate processes, tooling requirements, and documentation needs.
  • Work with Manufacturing Technicians to develop and refine prototypes and samples for customer approval, testing, and evaluation.
  • Conduct cost engineering activities, including cost estimation, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Coordinate and analyze time studies to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Identify required production documentation and lead or support the development of manufacturing instructions and procedures.
  • Manage manufacturing-related aspects of new product development projects from concept through production release.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at the Mexico manufacturing facility to support development and production efforts.
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders—including Sales, R&D, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Process Engineering, and Production—to ensure high-quality, efficient designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
