About The Position

The Manufacturing Data Analyst collaborates with operations planning, process engineering, quality, and other departments to improve manufacturing operations through data-driven insights. The role reports directly to the Manufacturing Systems Engineer and partners with the analyst team onsite at PPG’s Delaware, Ohio Plant. Its primary focus is maintaining data accuracy, developing measurement (KPI) dashboards, and providing data support for engineering projects and cause investigations. The position may occasionally involve collecting data directly from the manufacturing process through observation or interaction with PPG associates.

Requirements

• Proficiency working with datasets in MS Excel, including maintaining complex spreadsheets.
• Basic knowledge of statistical and quantitative analyses.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a data analysis role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Willingness to occasionally work with manufacturing associates on the shop floor.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with programming languages or data visualization tools such as Tableau or MS Power BI.
• Familiarity with process controls tag historians, manufacturing ERP systems, and Lean-SixSigma tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy of automated and manual data reporting systems.
• Develop measurement dashboards to monitor manufacturing performance.
• Provide data-driven insights for engineering projects and cause investigations.
• Occasionally collect data directly from the manufacturing process when existing data is unavailable or unreliable, including through process observation or interaction with PPG associates.
• Collaborate with the quality department to support data accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
